Cash, jewellery of three passengers stolen on-board Jhelum Express

Cash, electronic items and jewellery belonging to three passengers, one of them an army personnel, were stolen on-board the Pune-Jammu Tawi Jhelum Express, railway police said.

The passengers were asleep when the thieves struck and escaped with the booty, they said.

After the train reached the Ambala Cantt. station, the passengers noticed that their valuables were missing and they reported the matter to the Government Railway Police.

The train stopped at the station for over 30 minutes as the police completed formalities.

A senior GRP official at the station said an FIR has been registered on the complaint of the passengers and the matter was being investigated.
