TIRUCHY: A college student from Tiruchy who followed the vehicle of TVK president Vijay from Tiruchy airport to Thanjavur was severely injured after his bike hit a car.
The information about the landing of actor Vijay at Tiruchy airport had spread like wildfire and the frenzy fans who gathered all along the airport to Thanjavur road either greeted him or followed him by two wheelers despite the party leadership had warned against such activity.
Among the fans, P Vignesh (20), a resident from Kalkandarkottai and a third year student from a private college, Tiriuchy along with his friend Arun (21) followed the vehicle of Vijay by his two wheeler.
While they attempted to get closer to Vijay's vehicle, their two wheeler hit a car in which Vignesh sustained severe head injury and the public rushed him to the GH from where he was shifted to a private hospital in Tiruchy and his condition is said to be critical. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
