CHENNAI: In politics, one should be wary of what she/he asks for online. One’s plans could horribly backfire in an instant, if the person ‘fulfilling’ your request were an active netizen.

President of the sports and skill development cell of the state BJP, Amar Prasad Reddy learned his lesson the hard way. A day after Amar Prasad posted a Tweet asking netizens to write a word about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a leader of rival Congress responded in style.

Congress MP Karti Chidambaram from Sivagangai obliged his political rival and posted, “Goebbels” in response to Reddy’s one word description of the PM.

As if the Congress MP’s sarcasm was not enough, sympathizers of the DMK and other constituents of the Secular Progressive Alliance had a field day posting damning one word replies against the BJP and its politics. Perhaps, the BJP functionary should be a little more prudent in experimenting ideas on social media.
