The AI 183 flight was cordoned off as soon as it landed in San Francisco. The hole was found on the flight’s arrival during inspection at the plane’s entry door.
The New Delhi to San Francisco route is considered to be one of the world’s longest. Air India has launched an internal probe into the safety lapse.
Sources in Air India said “crew members of the aircraft are to be questioned regarding the massivesafety lapses”.
