Woman’s body found near police station in Chengalpattu

The body of an unidentified woman, believed to be aged about 22 years, was found near Sathurangapattinam police station on Saturday.

It was the local residents who noticed the body, with injuries on head and face, dumped in the bushes behind the police station. Officials from the station visited the spot and sent the body for post-mortem examination to the Chengalpattu Government hospital.

Officials said the victim had tattoos on both her hands, and added that a few liquor bottles and leftover food were found near her body. It is suspected that the girl might be a college student, and some group might have kidnapped and murdered her. The Sathurangapattinam police have registered a case and are trying to identify the woman and those behind the murder.
