Two men who evaded arrest in criminal cases secured in Airport

He was detained by the immigration officials, who have informed Kerala police.

CHENNAI: Two men including one from Kerala who were wanted in separate criminal cases and had a look out circulars against them were detained at Chennai International airport on Sunday.

During the early hours of Sunday, a passenger Jobin Jose who arrived from Dubai was intercepted by immigration officials on his arrival at the Chennai airport. Airport sources said that Jobin Jose is a native of Allepey in Kerala. He was booked by the police there on charges of sexual assault and criminal intimidation, more than a year ago.

Jobin who escaped arrest fled to Dubai and was working there after which Kerala police issued a look out circular against his name to all airports across the country. He was detained by the immigration officials, who have informed Kerala police.

In another incident, a 34 year old man from Ramanathapuram who evaded police arrest for the past eight years was secured by Immigration authorities on Sunday morning. The suspect, Selvakumar had come from Colombo.

He was booked by police in Ramanathapuram in a theft case in 2014 and has evaded arrest and fled to a foreign country.
