CHENNAI: Two men were arrested for allegedly keeping mobile phones in bathrooms in homes and in women hostels in and around Velachery and recording women. The arrested people have been identified as Venkatesan (38) and Sriram (29). Police sources said that they were caught by the public while loitering suspiciously around a house on Monday morning and found that there were vulgar images and videos on their mobile phones. They were subjected to mob treatment and then handed over to the police. Using recovery software, authorities recovered several deleted videos from their mobile phone. Investigations are underway to find if the two of them are part of any extortion gang who used these videos to threaten women. They were produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
