Two held for attacking man with knife, robbing in Kodungaiyur

CHENNAI: Police on Tuesday arrested two persons for allegedly attacking a man with a knife and robbing him in Kodungayur. The victim, M Dhanasekaran (40) is an auto driver.

On Monday, Dhanasekaran was waiting near the Chinnandi mutt auto stand in Kodungaiyur when three persons came and demanded money from him. When Dhanasekaran refused, they allegedly assaulted him with a knife and took the Rs 300 he was carrying on him.

Dhanasekaran was treated for his injuries at a hospital after which he filed a complaint.

Based on Dhanasekaran's complaint, Kodungayur police registered a case and based on the inputs provided by the victim, police arrested V Karuna alias Karunakaran (36) and his associate, S Parthasarathi (40) - both from Kodungayur. Search is on for another suspect.

Police said that Karuna is a history-sheeter and has eight cases against him.

The two of them were produced before the court and remanded to judicial custody.
