CHENNAI: The CMRL clarified tremors not due to Metro rail construction in Chennai.

Following the speculation of tremors felt in few areas of the city due to Metro rail construction, the Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) on Wednesday clarified that the tremors were not due to rail construction.

In a statement, the CMRL clarified, "In connection with the tremors felt in Chennai, Anna Salai, it has been confirmed that the tremors are not caused by Chennai metro rail project works, as no such activity is currently taking place in the area."
