According to sources, the trio demanded money from Rajasekar who was manning the cash counter at the ice cream parlour. After he paid them some cash, the trio convinced him to let them chant prayers to ward off evil spirits. Rajasekar then allowed them in to perform pooja near the cash drawer. In a matter of seconds, the trio looted the entire cash in the drawer, amounting to Rs 15,000 and fled. Rajasekar subsequently filed a complaint with the Shastri Nagar police. This is the third incident of theft by transpersons in four days, with the other two earlier reported in Vadapalani and T Nagar.
