Tambaram RTO chief suspended over missing registration certificates

On Tuesday, Tambaram Regional Transport Officer, A Mukkannan, was suspended with immediate effect by the transport department.

CHENNAI: Tambaram Regional Transport Officer was suspended on Tuesday in connection with 32 missing registration certificates from his office.

A few months ago, owners who had submitted their RC in the office for renewal of fitness certificates of their vehicles were informed that their RCs’ went missing from the office.

Later, the owners filed a complaint with the Chennai traffic joint police commissioner Jaishankar. After inquiry, the Joint Commissioner suspended RTO staff Vijayakumar, Balaji, Lakshmi, Santhi and Damodaran.

On Tuesday, Tambaram Regional Transport Officer, A Mukkannan, was suspended with immediate effect by the transport department.
