The three-day event was inaugurated on Monday by the Consul of Spain and Head of Mission, Chennai, Anthony Lobo, at Alliance Francaise, with chief guest Bruno Plasse, executive director, Indo-French Cultural Centre and Sukanya Ramesh, cinema artiste, present.

“This is an opportunity for local filmmakers and enthusiasts to understand and appreciate the techniques adopted by foreign filmmakers. For example, Spanish crime films always hold the suspense till the end, while Indian movies break it with comedy and dance sequences. Filmakers can look into incorporating these techniques into their films,” said E Thangaraj, general secretary fo the Foundation.

The films that will be screened include titles such as Marshland, Flowers, Can’t Say Goodbye, and A Gun in Each Hand.
