Slight surge in Chennai but overall TPR at 0.4 pc

There are 24 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday as the numbers saw a slight surge. The total number of cases of COVID-19 in the State has reached to 34,52,955.

CHENNAI: As many as six districts that recorded COVID-19 cases, Chennai recorded 11 cases, five cases were reported in Chengalpattu, four in Kancheepuram, two cases in Cuddalore and one case each in Coimbatore and Salem.

With 19,146 samples being tested for COVID-19 in the State, the positivity rate in the State stood at 0.1 per cent. Chennai saw 0.4 per cent positivity rate. The active cases of COVID-19 stood at 256 on Tuesday.

At least 31 people were discharged from several hospitals across the State, taking the total recoveries from COVID-19 to 34,14,674. With zero deaths due to COVID-19, the death toll stays at 38,025 in Tamil Nadu.
