“If bail is granted, Sasikala and her family members may abscond. The prayer of the intervening petitioner (the maid) that the witnesses could be tampered owing to the influence of the accused should also be considered. As custodial investigation by Police is necessary to find out the truth, bail could not be granted,” said the judges.

Regarding the Vakkalathu signature, the judges said that it was proved that the signature in the Vakkalathu papers was forged and directed the police should investigate the case. The judges also directed the Registrar (Judicial) to lodge a complaint against Sasikala Pushpa at K.Pudhur Police station. Based on the complaint from Sasikala’s maid alleging sexual torture by the MP and her family members, a case was booked against her at Pudukottai Police station in Thoothukudi.
