CHENNAI: Madras High Court Chief Justice Munishwar Nath Bhandari on Tuesday said that to shine as a criminal lawyer a budding advocate should have an intense practice experience before the district and session courts.
"The experience which you could get while practicing before the trial courts cannot even be matched with any law books," the CJ noted.
The CJ insisted on the statement in a function organised by the Bar Council of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to enroll 800 law graduates as lawyers.
Justice MN Bhandari also recalled his advocate days saying that he used to stand in the courtrooms to watch the case proceedings.
Though advocates are practicing in the courts, they are simultaneously active in politics and other industries. In such cases, the young lawyers shall choose their respective fields, the CJ added.
