A class nine girl student of the school run by KSP Ramesh complained to the Childline on November 27 that she was being sexually assaulted by Ramesh for the last four years. The Childline volunteers produced the girl before the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) which conducted an enquiry and recorded her statement. The CWC directed the D Nagar police to register a case. The D Nagar police after getting pressure from welfare groups registered a case under Section 10 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Office Act against Ramesh. However, he was not arrested which triggered agitations by different sections including students, women and political parties demanding his arrest and transferring the case to the CBI. Following this, the case has now been transferred to the CB-CID, said a release.
