Over 10 research Centers to come up in Anna University

As per the Higher Education Department’s plan, with the help of Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) and State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) as many as 11 research centers are proposed to be set up inside Anna University campus here.

CHENNAI: Anna University will have more than 10 research centers on its campus in collaboration with SIPCOT and TIDCO and will be established at a cost of Rs 10 crore.

As per the Higher Education Department’s plan, with the help of Tamilnadu Industrial Development Corporation Limited (TIDCO) and State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) as many as 11 research centers are proposed to be set up inside Anna University campus here.

A senior official from the Higher Education Department told DT Next that all the work has already started and it would be completed soon. He said that a separate Artificial Intelligence, Data Science Research, and Applications have been planned. The official further added that another center for Robotics and Automation centre will also be functioning soon.

The centres would be established to satisfy several students, who prefer their favorite course/subject like internet of things and cybersecurity among others.

The official said that another centre-- Bose-Einstein, Science, and Technology, would be setup in the Anna University campus, besides establishing 'Centre for Liberal Arts for Science, Engineering and Technology'.
