Moon sighted, Ramzan fasting begins from today

“The new moon of Ramzan has been sighted today. Therefore, the month of Ramzan will start from now,” the Chief Kazi said in an announcement to the TN government.

Marking the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramzan, the new moon has been sighted in various parts of Chennai on Saturday evening, said chief Kazi Saluhuddin Mohammad Ayub.

“The new moon of Ramzan has been sighted today. Therefore, the month of Ramzan will start from now,” the Chief Kazi said in an announcement to the TN government.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday greeted people ahead of the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramzan.
