According to weathermen, the heat in Chennai city, which recorded temperature between 39 and 40 degrees Celsius a week ago, has slightly come down and there has been cloud thunder in the evening for the past few days.

“As South West Monsoon is not active, the temperature level has taken a dip,” said an official, adding that the same situation would prevail for next two days.

Meanwhile, weather-blogger have forecast that the temperature would rise once the monsoon becomes active in the neighbouring states. On Saturday, Nungambakkam and Airport stations recorded a maximum temperature of 37.1 and 37.2 degree Celsius respectively.
