Man misbehaves with GH staff, held

Police arrested a 35-year-old man who misbehaved with a private contract worker in the Chengalpattu Medical college hospital on Sunday.

CHENNAI: Police said the private firm which holds the contract for the housekeeping department in the Chengalpattu GH has about 250 women and they would be assigned to work on a rotational basis. Police said Kapil (35) who was the manager of the housekeeping department offered lift to his staff two weeks ago near the Chengalpattu bus stop. On the way, he told the woman that they both can take a day off and enjoy the day. The woman asked him to stop the vehicle and went to the hospital in a share auto.

Later, she filed a complaint with the hospital administration, but no action was taken against Kapil. Meanwhile, Kapil and three other women threatened her to withdraw the complaint. The woman filed a complaint at the Chengalpattu Town police station. The police who registered a case arrested Kapil and remanded him in judicial custody. Search is on to nab three women who threatened her.
