CHENNAI: The judges of the Madras High Court, along with other officials, on Monday, conducted an on-site inspection at Marina Beach in connection with the allotment of shops.

The inspection was conducted based on the petition filed by Devi, seeking allotment of a shop at Marina Beach. When the petition came up for hearing before a Division Bench comprising Justices R Suresh Kumar and AD Jagadish Chandira, the Chennai Corporation Commissioner and the Secretary of the Environment and Forest Department submitted reports listing the steps taken regarding shop allotment. However, the reports were found to be unclear.

As a result, the judges decided to carry out a spot inspection at Marina Beach. Accordingly, the judges inspected Marina Beach on Monday morning.

Chennai District Collector Rashmi Siddharth Zagade, along with Revenue Department officials, Chennai Corporation Commissioner J Kumanaragurubaran, Chennai Police Commissioner A Arun, and other police officials, were present during the inspection.
