Liver of brain dead patient saves 54-year-old man at SRMC

The liver of a brain dead patient donated by near relatives has saved the life of another at Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre (SRMC) at suburban Porur

A hospital release here today said Muthukumar, a 20-year-old B. Com final year student in SRM Arts and Science College, residing at Perumbakkam was severely injured in a road accident last Saturday. 

He was admitted to a private hospital and declared dead. His liver was donated to Sri Ramachandra Medical Centre and it was transplanted on a 54-year-old businessman from Tiruchirapalli by a team of experts headed by Dr.Mohamed Rela.
