Kuwait-Chennai flight makes emergency landing due to technical glitch mid-air

The flight has been cancelled as the technical glitch in the plane could not be repaired immediately.

CHENNAI: An Air India Express flight from Kuwait to Chennai made an emergency landing in Kuwait due to a sudden technical glitch while flying mid-air. The flight was later cancelled.

The aircraft had departed to Chennai with 154 passengers at 11.26 pm on Monday. The pilot noticed a technical snag when the flight was in mid-air and alerted the ATC. The flight returned to Kuwait immediately. As the technical issue persisted for a long time, the airline announced that the flight was cancelled and the passengers were made to stay in Kuwait.

The flight is expected to arrive in Chennai on Wednesday morning.
