IIT-M, Canterbury university tie up for global opportunities

CHENNAI: The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has entered into a collaboration with the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, aimed at strengthening international academic ties and creating new global opportunities for students.

The partnership marks a significant step in IIT Madras’s global outreach strategy, particularly in building scalable and flexible pathways for its large and growing student base.

It also reflects a shared commitment by both institutions to democratise access to global education, enhance research and academic exchange, and leverage digital platforms to reach learners worldwide.

An MoU was signed between the two institutions establishing a comprehensive framework for cooperation across degree programmes, online education, research, and academic exchange.

Highlighting the significance of the collaboration, Indian Institute of Technology Madras Dean (academic courses) Prathap Haridoss said the partnership reflects the institute’s commitment to creating meaningful global pathways for students.
