Hoax threat to 108 control room

Police sources said that the control room received a phone call in which the caller claimed that explosives were placed in the control room and cut the call.

CHENNAI: A hoax bomb threat was issued to the 108 Ambulance service control room in Anna Salai on Friday night.

Police sources said that the control room received a phone call in which the caller claimed that explosives were placed in the control room and cut the call.

The staff alerted authorities and informed Teynampet police after which cops and BDDS (Bomb detection and disposal squad) personnel made a complete sweep of the premises. The threat was then declared a hoax.
