CHENNAI: A 28-year-old history-sheeter was arrested in Velachery on Saturday (August 22) for trespassing into a house and trying to sexually assault a 25-year-old woman, who works at a private firm and lives with her father.
According to police, the incident occurred on Friday (August 21) night.
The woman was sleeping in one room, while her father was sleeping in another room.
The accused trespassed into their house and attempted to sexually abuse the woman when she woke up and raised an alarm.
The intruder then attacked her with a wooden log. Hearing the commotion, her father rushed to her room, but the man also assaulted him and fled the spot.
Based on a complaint, police registered a case and arrested Balusamy (28). He was produced before a magistrate and remanded to judicial custody.
