Hindu Munnani leader escapes bomb attack

Tension gripped parts of the town here on Wednesday following a failed bomb attack on the house of a Hindu outfit functionary here on Tuesday night.

Police beefed up security in areas in and around Raja Ghori Street to keep the situation under control. According to sources, Ilango (36) a functionary of the Hindu Munnani, was residing with him family on Raja Ghori Street. He was involved in snacks supply business. 

Around 11 pm on Tuesday, some unidentified persons reportedly hurled petrol bombs on him, while he was returning home after delivering the day’s orders. Ilango narrowly escaped the attack and shouted for help. As locals and Hindu Munnani cadre gathered at the spot, the miscreants fled the spot. Following this, tension gripped the area and an uneasy calm was prevailing on Wednesday also. 

On information top police officials reached the spot and conducted an inquiry. A hunt is on to nab the attackers.
