Garlic & lemon get cheaper on the pocket, check out vegetable prices at Chennai's Koyambedu market on Feb 12

Garlic which was priced at Rs 150 per kilogram on Feb 10 saw a drop of Rs 20, reaching Rs 130 per kilogram today. They were priced at Rs 250 for a past few months.

CHENNAI: The prices of vegetables at Chennai Koyambedu wholesale market saw major fluctuations on February 12, with some items witnessing a drop while others saw a slight increase.

Garlic which was priced at Rs 150 per kilogram on Feb 10 saw a drop of Rs 20, reaching Rs 130 per kilogram today. They were priced at Rs 250 for a past few months.

According to traders at the market, lemons are being sold at Rs 60 per kg today. It was priced at Rs 40 on February 8.

Staple vegetables such as onions and tomatoes have recorded only minor price change in recent days. Onion price has been fluctuating over the past few days, with the price increasing from Rs 34 on Feb 8 to Rs 38 today.

The price of tomatoes has remained steady at Rs 25 for the past few days. However, the price has fallen by Rs 5 today and is being sold at Rs 20 per kg.

On February 12, coconut is being sold at Rs 60/kg, drumstick at Rs 70/kg, ginger at Rs 40/kg, peas at Rs 40/kg, and cabbage at Rs 10/kg.
