CHENNAI: Students of the Peri Institute of Technology in Mannivakkam near Vandalur were in for a shock when they reached college to appear for internal exams on Thursday when the administration stopped those who are yet to clear fee dues from entering the campus. Only students who showed the fee receipt were allowed to enter and write the exams.

After the administration made clear that they will be able to attend the second-semester classes only on clearing the dues, around 300 students sat outside the college campus and staged a protest. However, with the administration sticking to the decision, students dispersed after an hour of protest.
