Etihad flight aborts takeoff in Chennai due to technical glitch

The issue was detected in time by the pilot, who took immediate action to halt the flight, preventing a potential disaster.

CHENNAI: The Chennai - Abu Dhabi flight was delayed after the pilot noticed a technical snag moments before the take-off on Monday.

The Etihad Airlines flight to Abu Dhabi was scheduled to depart from Chennai with 168 passengers at 4 am on Monday early morning. When the flight started to move on the runway the pilot noticed a technical snag, stopped the aircraft immediately and informed the ATC.

Then the flight was pulled back to the bay and the aeronautical department tried to rectify the fault while the passengers were seated inside but as it took much time at around 6 am the passengers were offloaded from the flight and were made to stay in the waiting hall.

Airport sources said as it's taking much time to rectify the fault the passengers would be made to stay in various hotels in Chennai and the flight is expected to take off from Chennai to Abu Dhabi on Tuesday morning.
