CHENNAI: Akash Ravichandran of Chengalpattu (20) was arrested for crashing his car into the gates of a star hotel in Guindy. The incident happened on Sunday when the college student reached the hotel on GST Road with a few relatives. The hotel security manager denied him entry since he was not 21. Infuriated over this, Akash, who was already drunk, drove out on high speed, leaving his relatives there. He crashed into the heavy metal gates at the entrance, which tore off from the hinges and stuck on the car. He continued driving for a distance before hitting the median and coming to a halt. Akash was produced before the magistrate on Monday and remanded in judicial custody.
