Drumstick price jumps to Rs 150 on February 1, 2026 at Chennai's Koyambedu market

CHENNAI: Vegetable prices continued to fluctuate sharply at Chennai's Koyambedu wholesale market on Sunday (February 1).

According to the traders, compared to Jan 30, the price of Drumstick has surged sharply.

While one kg of drumsticks was sold at Rs 90 on Friday , today the price has increased by Rs 60 to Rs 150per kg.

Some vegetables record high in prices

Lemons which were sold at Rs 40 on January 30, are now sold at Rs 50, a surge of Rs 10.

One kg of green chillies, which was sold at Rs 35, has increased by Rs 10 and is now selling at Rs 45 per kg.

Peas prices have also risen by Rs 10 and are being sold at Rs 50 per kg today.

Ooty carrot, which was sold at Rs 25, rose by Rs 10 to be priced at Rs 35 per kg.

Prices of most vegetables remain unchanged

According to traders, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, continue to be sold at same price as compared to January 30.

Onions are priced at Rs 22 per kg, tomatoes are priced at Rs 20 per kg, potatoes are priced at Rs 15 per kg.

Garlic continues to be sold at Rs 100 per kg, while ginger is sold at Rs 70 per kg and raw mango is sold at Rs 60 per kg.

Corainder and mint leaves are sold at Rs 3 and Rs 3 per bunch, respectively.
