CHENNAI: Vegetable prices at the Koyambedu wholesale market in Chennai witnessed minor fluctuations on January 22 (Wednesday), with drumstick recording a sharp fall of Rs 50 per kg compared to the previous day, while most other vegetables remained stable.

Some vegetables record a drop in prices

Drumstick is dropped by Rs 50 per kg from Rs 150 to Rs 100 per kg. Ooty carrot prices also eased to Rs 30 per kg from Rs 35, while Malur carrots fell to Rs 15 per kg from Rs 20, both decreasing by Rs 5 per kg.

Prices of most vegetables remain unchanged

According to traders, rates of onions, tomatoes, potatoes, continue to be sold at same price as compared to yesterday.

Onions is priced at Rs 26 per kg, tomatoes is priced at Rs 25 per kg, potatoes are priced at Rs 20 per kg.

Beans continue to rule at Rs 40 per kg, while ginger is sold at Rs 70 per kg and garlic is sold at Rs 100 per kg.

Corainder and mint leaves are sold at Rs 5 and Rs 3 per bunch, respectively.
