During the event, the Chief Minister distributed welfare assistance to 248 beneficiaries, including educational assistance, laptops for students, marriage assistance, iron boxes and hearing aids.

CHENNAI: Chief Minister MK Stalin on Tuesday inaugurated six Public Distribution System (PDS) shops and a dialysis centre in Kolathur, his Assembly constituency in Chennai.

Under the North Chennai Development Scheme, the Chief Minister inaugurated a dialysis and relief centre constructed at a cost of Rs 11.74 crore.

The five-storey building, spread over 21,850 sq ft, houses the dialysis centre, and its campus also includes six newly built PDS shops, which were opened for public use.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the Kolathur Lake Park, developed at a cost of Rs. 4.98 crore. The park is equipped with basic facilities, including drinking water, restrooms, a walking track and a dedicated play area for children.

In addition, Stalin laid the foundation stone for converting the electricity infrastructure into a safer underground system in the constituency.

During the event, the Chief Minister distributed welfare assistance to 248 beneficiaries, including educational assistance, laptops for students, marriage assistance, iron boxes and hearing aids.

The CM later addressed presspersons about the upcoming Assembly election in the state and possible alliances.

Ministers KR Periyakaruppan, Ma Subramanian and PK Sekarbabu, along with Mayor R Priya, were present at the function.
