Chennai-Bengaluru Indigo flight takes mid-air U-turn

CHENNAI: The IndiGo airlines flight to Bengaluru made a U-turn to Chennai following a technical snag in mid-air on Tuesday (September 16) night.

The IndiGo flight with 165 passengers departed for Bengaluru at 7.05 pm. A few minutes after takeoff, when the aircraft was above Vellore, the pilot noticed a technical snag and alerted the Chennai ATC.

The officers were instructed to return to Chennai. Later, the flight made a U-turn and landed at Chennai airport at 8.30 pm. The passengers were deboarded from the plane and were sent to the waiting area.

As the snag could not be rectified, the airline arranged a spare flight, and it departed for Bengaluru with all the passengers at 10 pm.
