Chennai: Silambam teacher sexually harasses minor students, held

The Neelankarai AWPS registered a case under the Pocso Act, arrested Thirunavukkarasu, and are investigating.

CHENNAI: A 36-year-old silambam instructor was arrested under the Pocso Act for allegedly sexually harassing two of his minor students during a temple festival in Neelankarai.

The arrested person was Thirunavukkarasu. According to the police, Thirunavukkarasu had taken his students to participate in the event taking place at a temple on February 1 and allegedly misbehaved with two girls.

The girls raised an alarm, left the venue and returned home. Days later, one of the victims shared about the incident to her family members, after which they approached the police.

The Neelankarai AWPS registered a case under the Pocso Act, arrested Thirunavukkarasu, and are investigating.
