CHENNAI: Police have arrested two youths, including a minor boy, who were part of a gang which hurled country-made bombs at a house in Mogappair during the early hours of Thursday.

Probe revealed that the occupants in the house had questioned a gang for consuming alcohol and creating public nuisance in the street.

Around 1 am, Manivannan and Manimaran, ambulance drivers, rushed outside their home on Venugopal Street on hearing a loud explosion and found window panes at the back of the house shattered.

There were cracks on the wall, too. On receiving information, Nolambur police reached the scene.

Probe revealed that a gang used to consume alcohol and create nuisance at a vacant plot near Manivannan's house, and the residents had complained to the police about the same, which had irked the group.

The police registered a case and arrested two persons - Martin (21) and a juvenile. A search is on for three more suspects.
