CHENNAI: Vegetable prices continued to fluctuate sharply at Chennai’s Koyambedu wholesale market on Sunday (December 21), with cauliflower prices surging after a sharp fall yesterday (Dec 20).
According to traders, cauliflower prices surged by Rs 30 per kg to Rs50, reversing the decline recorded on December 20, when it had dropped to Rs 30 per kg.
On the other hand, drumstick prices dropped sharply by Rs 40 and are currently sold at Rs 160 per kg.
Lemon, which were sold at Rs 20 per kg on December 20, have increased by Rs 10 and are now priced at Rs 30 per kg.
Similarly, cabbage, which were sold at Rs 30 per kg, have gone up by Rs 10 to Rs 40 per kg.
The price of beans has risen by Rs 10 and is now being sold at Rs 50 per kg.
Likewise, onions, which were sold at Rs 30 per kg, have increased by Rs 6 to Rs 36 per kg.
Prices of tomato (Rs 30/kg), potato (Rs 30/kg) Remained unchanged.
