CHENNAI: Police on Saturday arrested a 40-year-old man, who assaulted his wife to death after a fight at their house in Porur on Wednesday and then went to sleep with her dead body. The couple’s children went to a relative’s house the next day and sought help.

However, the man escaped during the day, police said. The accused, Sathyaraj (40) lived with his wife, Rosy and two children at RE Nagar, Porur.

Probe revealed that he was drunk and thrashed his wife’s head on the wall, leading to her death.
