Chennai: Guest worker snatches techie's phone, held

On Saturday evening, a man trailed the victim, snatched her phone, and fled the spot, after which the woman approached the Thoraipakkam police with a complaint.

CHENNAI: A guest worker was arrested for snatching mobile phone from a techie when she was walking back to her hostel after work, in Thoraipakkam on Saturday.

The victim, a 23-year-old woman, lives at a hostel in Seevaram and works in an IT company nearby.

On Saturday evening, a man trailed her, snatched her phone, and fled the spot, after which the woman approached the Thoraipakkam police with a complaint.

After investigations, the police arrested the accused, Shidul Aslam (21) of Assam, and the stolen mobile phone was seized from him. The arrested person was produced before a magistrate and remanded in judicial custody.
