CB-CID team, after months of meticulous investigation, picked up Sidhartha Velu and his wife Priscilla Margaret Dhanaraj, residents of Sholinganallur and have remanded them in judicial custody. CB-CID began investigating the couple after they were tipped off by some members of the public regarding promotion of child pornography on certain websites.

The officials found objectionable content on these sites and they were eventually banned. The servers for hosting these websites were based in USA and Canada and police mounted a search for the Indian arm of these websites. The CB-CID investigators found out that the membership fee to these websites were credited to a particular bank account based in Bengaluru and tracked the transaction and account details. They unearthed an account where a membership fee towards a porn site amounting to Rs. 2.4 crore was credited to the account of Sidharatha Velu in Bengaluru.

Police then registered a case against the accused under various sections of Information Technology Act and later zeroed in on the couple at Sholinganallur. They conducted raids at the residence of the couple and found incriminating documents that proved the connection the couple had with these websites. Police said the couple were also having links to three more websites, all of them hosting objectionable content.
