Chennai: 8-year-old boy falls out of window on 8th floor, dies

The Chengalpattu Taluk police have registered a case and shifted the body to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for a post-mortem.

CHENNAI: An eight-year-old boy died after he fell from the eighth floor of an apartment complex in Pulipakkam near Chengalpattu on Wednesday.

The victim was identified as K Naveen, a Class 4 student at a private school. Police said that the child's mother, Akshaya, was at her office, and the boy was with his grandmother at their home.

Naveen was playing on the bed placed near an open window in their apartment when he fell through the window to the ground.

Neighbours found the boy lying in a pool of blood and rushed him to a hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The Chengalpattu Taluk police have registered a case and shifted the body to the Chengalpattu Government Hospital for a post-mortem.
