CHENNAI: Vegetable prices at the Koyambedu wholesale market in Chennai witnessed minor fluctuations on February 5 (Thursday).

According to the traders, compared to Feb 2, the price of ooty carrot plunges sharply.

While ooty carrots were sold at Rs 40 on Monday, today the price has decreased by Rs 15 to sell for Rs 25 per kg.

Few vegetables record high in prices

Karnataka beetroot which was sold at Rs 15, has increased by Rs 5 and is now selling at Rs 20 per kg, a surge of Rs 5.

Chow chow which were sold at Rs 12 per kg on February 2, are now sold at Rs 15 per kg.

Prices of most vegetables remain unchanged

According to traders, onions, tomatoes, potatoes, continue to be sold at same price as compared to February 2.

Onions are priced at Rs 24 per kg, tomatoes are priced at Rs 20 per kg, potatoes are priced at Rs 15 per kg.

Garlic continues to be sold at Rs 100 per kg, while ginger is sold at Rs 70 per kg and raw mango is sold at Rs 60 per kg.

Corainder and mint leaves are sold at Rs 3 and Rs 3 per bunch, respectively.
