The bike belonged to G Sankar (22) of Kattupakkam, who works for an event management company run by Rajkannan alias Azhagar Samy. Rajkannan also plays supporting roles in movies. The incident happened when the bike was parked at Rajkannan’s house in Metro Nagar, Alapakkam.

Sankar, who reached Rajkannan’s house on a bike, left for dinner with the latter in a car. At night, Rajkannan received a phone call from his neighbour that a bike parked inside the compound was on fire.

However, before they could do reach the bike was gutted.

Maduravoyal police, on combing CCTV footage, found two women reaching the house around 11.30 pm. The pillion rider, who had her face covered, entered the house and when she stepped out, a blast was visible inside the compound. However, they took a U-turn and left stealthily.

While police are yet to identify the accused, Rajkannan has raised suspicion on an infamous YouTube celebrity as he had an enmity with her. “Thankfully, my mother is in my hometown. She could not have been able to withstand this shock of a blast when she was alone at home,” said Rajkannan.
