CHENNAI: Greater Chennai Traffic Police (GCTP) has announced traffic diversions in Alwarpet to facilitate repair works on the damaged stormwater drain system on TTK Road, between Alwarpet Signal and Sriman Srinivasa Road, by the Chennai Corporation.

To ease traffic congestion during repair work, the Alwarpet flyover will temporarily function as a two-lane road from August 11 (Monday). Only two-wheelers, four-wheelers, and light vehicles will be allowed on the flyover.

MTC buses and heavy vehicles plying towards Music Academy on TTK Road (incoming) can use the Alwarpet Flyover Service Road, turn left at the Alwarpet Junction, proceed via Murrays Gate Road, turn right, and proceed via Seshadri Road and Kasthuri Rangan Road to reach their destination.

MTC buses and heavy vehicles heading towards Mylapore on TTK Road (incoming) can use the Alwarpet Flyover Service Road, take a right turn at Alwarpet Junction to Luz Church Road, Musiri Subramaniam Road, and turn left onto PS Sivasamy Salai to reach their destination as usual.

MTC buses and heavy vehicles heading towards Alwarpet on TTK Road (outgoing) can use the service road instead of the Alwarpet flyover to reach their destination.
