4 snatchers held in Puzhal and Red Hills

The police arrested three men and a juvenile in Puzhal and Red Hills in connection with two chain snatching incidents.

The Puzhal police arrested Seenu (24) and Angama Rao (30) of Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, for snatching a five-sovereign chain from one Ramalakshmi (35) of Vinayakapuram on February 28. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case and arrested the duo. The chain was recovered from them.


Similarly, the Red Hills police arrested Arunraj (20) of Vyasarpadi and a 17-year-old boy for snatching chain in their jurisdiction on February 6. Mallika (46) of Red Hills was going for walk on Sothupakkam Road when the duo on a motorbike snatched her six sovereigns and fled the spot. Based on her complaint, the Red Hills police registered a case and secured the duo on Wednesday. Since Arun Raja suffered fractures in his bid to escape, he was admitted to Government Stanley Hospital.
