4 ganja smugglers arrested in joint op with Andhra cops

Nearly three weeks after the seizure of 461 kg ganja in Red Hills, a special team led by Madhavaram Deputy Commissioner K Balakrishnan arrested four persons, including main accused N Srajudhin of Madurai, in a joint operation with Andhra Pradesh police.

The police first detained Karthik of Villupuram on August 30 for allegedly helping Srajudhin to hide. Later, DC Balakrishnan and team camped in Nasripattinam and conducted a joint operation with the Andhra Pradesh police, during which two persons were picked up. They were identified as S Nakka Banu Prasath (23) and B Gandi Krishna (23) of Nasripatnam. Based on the information obtained from them, Srajudhin was secured in Ennore along with his accomplice N Saravanan (30) of Madurai. The trio who was arrested during vehicle check was Srajudhin’s men, while Banu Prasath and Gandi Krishna part of Navin’s gang. All four were remanded in judicial custody on Saturday, and a hunt has been launched for Navin and his accomplice identified as Thulasi.
