Private cargo van driver ends life at workplace in airport

The airport police who visited the spot retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the Chromepet GH.

CHENNAI: A 38-year-old man who works as a van driver in a private cargo agency committed suicide at the Chennai airport on Thursday.

The deceased Sundarajan of Villupuram was working as a load auto driver with a private courier firm in the Chennai airport.

On Thursday morning the workers noticed Sundarajan’s van parked in the old airport area and on the backside Sundarajan had committed suicide by hanging himself.

The airport police who visited the spot retrieved the body and sent it for post-mortem to the Chromepet GH.

During the inquiry, police found Sundarajan had quarrelled with his wife over the phone on Wednesday night and while disconnecting Sundarajan had told her that he would commit suicide.
