3 held for attacking man with knife to rob phone

Pattabiram police have arrested three men and have launched a hunt for one more suspect who attacked a pedestrian with a knife and robbed him of a phone in their jurisdiction a few days ago.

Among the trio, Karthik and Manoj of Tiruvalangadu were remanded in judicial custody on Sunday while the third, a juvenile, was sent to the observation home.

The incident happened on August 18 when the victim Aaron was walking home after getting down from the office bus. Four men surrounded him on two bikes and those riding pillion got down. They demanded Aaron to part with his mobile phone and when he refused, one of them attacked Aaron at the back of his head with a knife and robbed his phone.

While he was admitted at Kilpauk Medical College Hospital, Pattabiram police registered a case and secured the suspects with the help of footages from CCTV cameras in the locality.
