27-year-old man held on murder charge

Police sources said that Vignesh refused to pay for the food he ate at the Pani Puri stall run by the deceased, Arman Singh, which led to an argument.

CHENNAI: Vignesh (27) of Royapettah who assaulted a migrant worker running an eatery in Triplicane was booked on murder charge after the latter succumbed to his injuries on Friday night. Police sources said that Vignesh refused to pay for the food he ate at the Pani Puri stall run by the deceased, Arman Singh, which led to an argument. The incident happened on October 4. In the melee, Arman, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had questioned his behaviour. So Vignesh pushed him down and assaulted him with a rock, leaving him to bleed. Arman was injured severely and rushed to the nearby hospital and then to Royapettah GH for treatment, where he succumbed. The Royapettah police have arrested Vignesh and remanded him to judicial custody.
